NC Justice Center & NC Housing Coalition team up to launch Energy Efficiency for All

The North Carolina Justice Center and the North Carolina Housing Coalition are partnering to launch Energy Efficiency for All – a unique collaboration that aims to expand and promote energy efficiency as a critical tool for North Carolina communities.

The Energy Efficiency for All (EEFA) Coalition believes that all North Carolinians should live in safe, affordable, and efficient homes – homes that offer sanctuary, comfort, and shelter.

We believe that energy is a critical factor in making sure a home is just that – a home. Not a safety or health hazard. Not a space for making impossible decisions. A home.

Because we believe no one should have to live in unsafe conditions to save money on heating or cooling, or choose between paying the electric bill and filling a prescription.

No one should have to suffer economic hardship because their homes are old and inefficient. This is even truer for the communities of color and those with low incomes disproportionately affected by these conditions – and therefore have the most to gain.

North Carolina’s EEFA Coalition is working to:

  • Ensure electricity rates affordable and equitable,
  • Make certain that renters and homeowners with low incomes have equitable access to home energy improvements that could reduce their electricity bills,
  • Improve and expand energy efficiency programs to reach the most vulnerable households, and
  • Prioritize racial and economic equity and environmental justice in energy policy making.

Join us in working towards a more just vision for energy and housing. Sign below if you agree North Carolinians deserve safe, affordable, and efficient homes.

  1. As concerned citizens we have a moral obligation to bring this economic discrimination to the public’s attention and work with Property owners to rectify this hurtful drain on people’s limited funds.
